Slip Trip and Fall AccidentsUnfortunately slips, trips and falls, are relatively common. They are however becoming less frequent as businesses and councils take their health and safety responsibilities more seriously.
Slips, trips and falls are often caused by;
- Uneven or broken pavement or floor surface
- Slippery floor which is not appropriately signposted
- Unexpected obstacles
If you've suffered an injury after a slip, trip or fall caused by one of the above, you may be eligible to make a slip, trip, or fall claim.
Those responsible for public areas have a duty of care towards people who use those areas. This means they must do all they can to avoid accidents taking place. Slipping and tripping accidents can often be prevented by carrying out regular maintenance work and ensuring the appropriate health and safety measures are in place, for example making people aware of a slippery floor, or making sure trailing cables in an office are gathered and kept out of the way. If this duty of care has been breached, the injured party may be able to claim compensation.
